Quartz Creek was the first of three Beacon Checker systems to help ensure you are heading into the backcountry prepared.  Keep in mind this is not the end all be all, however it is simply one more tool in the awareness and education game!!  Both Gorman Lake and Silent Pass will be outfitted soon with similar set-ups!!
