1. Why should I register?
In order to fully enjoy the features of the website, the administrator will require that you register as a member. Registration is free, and allows you to do the following:
- Comment on news items
- Post forum entries
- Reply to other peoples' forum entries
- Edit your posts
- Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
- Send private messages to other members
- Upload photos
- Advertise and use the classifieds (going live soon)
- Purchase items from the sledshot.com online store (going live soon)

2. I didn't receive my confirmation email. Why not?
If you did not receive your confirmation email please do the following. Double check that the email registered
was your correct email amd that you did not make any typing errors. Ensure that the confirmation email is not in your "Junk Mail" box or "Spam" box, which could happen due to a content filter. If neither of these help resolve your issue please contact Dave Best. In the email please include your username, and your email address.

3. How do I change my profile information?
Once you have registered your account, each time you login you will be taken to your profile page. From here just select the [edit] option to update your profile information.

4. How do I get a picture under my username?
This image is called a headshot - in the [edit] section for your profile simply click the browse button, choose your headshot from your computer and then press the "save info" button.

5. How do I message other users?
You can private message other users from their forum entry. At the bottom of the forum entry choose "PM" and you can create a private message. You can also private message other users from your inbox. Login to your account and click the link on the right hand side of your profile "my inbox". From here you can send and receive messages. When you are in your inbox, you are able to compose a message to anyone in your contact list. To add people to your contact list, go to their profile and click "add to contacts".

6. My account got suspended, why did this happen?
We expect sledshot.com users to abide by our terms of use and to help us keep sledshot.com as a website suitable for all users. Any user that disobeys our guidelines will be warned, or suspended. Why do people get suspended? Suspensions happen if a user is making inappropriate postings, uploading inappropriate photos, directly attacking any user, or directly attacking our website. If a user has been suspended multiple times, we reserve the right to ban the user. We also reserve the right to immediately ban anyone we feel is not respecting the sledshot.com terms of use.

1. How do I publish a news item?
If, as a private user, you have something of interest to other sledshot.com users, please create a topic in the sledshot.com forum. If you are a company, club or other user who has some interesting news for the mountain sledding population
please contact Kim Roebuck or Dave Best with an overview of your story. If we agree that your story or news item is of interest, we will contact you to request your full news content including images and we will publish it on the site.

1. How Do I Start A Topic?
To start a forum topic, click the category you'd like it filed under (e.g., General Chat, Manufacturers etc) then, click the link labeled 'post new topic'. Complete the subject field, and add your text in the message body; once you have done so, you can click 'Preview' to preview what your topic will look like, or 'submit' to submit the thread, creating it under the chosen category.

2. Code buttons?
When submitting a comment, or creating a new forum post you should see a number of available buttons to click. There will be a B for Bold, an I for italics, a U for underline, list for creating bulleted lists, img for inserting an image and URL for inserting a link to another website. You can also choose a font color or font size from the drop down boxes. At this stage you will see the html code for any formating you do in your post. To view how your post will look on the front end (without the html code) please click the preview button.

3. Emoticons?
When submitting a comment, or creating a new forum post you can add emoticons by clicking on them in the left

4. How do I add an image to a post??
When creating a post, insert the URL of the image location in the post and the image will be shown when you preview and submit your post. If you wish to add an image from the sledshot.com photo gallery .

5. Can I edit or delete my own posts?
Yes, you are able to edit your own posts. If you visit the forum entry you want to edit, there will be an edit button on the right side of it. Click on that, and it will allow you to edit your post. If you want to delete your post, click delete.

6. What are Moderators?
Moderators are the team at sledshot.com who monitor our forums and our photo sections, to make sure nothing bad happens to the website in general.

7. Why has a word been changed in my post?
sledshot.com implements a content filter to remove what we feel are inappropriate words and will censor out any profanity or racial words.

8. I found inappropriate content, what should I do?
Please report any inappropriate content to a moderator immediately. We try our best to filter out any inappropriate content that the forums or photo section may receive, but ask our users to help us in helping make sledshot.com a suitable site for all users.

1. How Do I Upload An Image?
Once registered, go to your profile page and click on the "my gallery" link in the top right hand corner of your profile. Here you can see your personal photo gallery. From there click on the "upload photos" link in the top right hand corner. For each image you wish to upload, browse and select the image from your computer (please note that all images must be no larger than 5mb), and then complete the index information: category; title, rider, location, photographer. This information is not compulsory, but will help
other users find your images and make the gallery more useful to all users. To add more images, click on the "add image" button. Once you have selected all your images, click on the "upload images" button.

2. Why is my image not showing in the gallery?
For newly registered users we have an image approval process. This helps us ensure that inappropriate images are not uploaded to the site by people not abiding by our terms of use. Once you have uploaded a number of approved images, you will become a pre-approved user, and any images you upload will be published immediately. Pre-approved images can also be deleted by our moderators if they feel they are inappropriate. We recognize that this may delay your first few images being shown for a maximum of 24 hours, but ask that you understand that this helps make sledshot.com a suitable site for all users.

For best results when uploading photos please use .jpeg files no larger than 5mb in size.

4. How Do I Remove An Image From My Gallery?
To delete an image, go to your gallery, select the image on the left hand side, and click the "X" (delete image) button in the top right hand corner of the image info box.

5. How do I change the index information on an image?
Go to your gallery, select the image on the left hand side, and click the "pencil" (edit image) button in the top right hand corner of the image info box. Edit or update the image info fields and then click the "send" button.

6. Why don't you have Image of the Day or a similar gallery at sledshot.com?
We intend to go live with "POW" - "photo of the week" in phase 2 of the sledshot.com launch.

7. I got an error while trying to upload a file, what should I do?
It is likely that you were trying to upload an image that was larger than the maximum permitted size, or was an unsupported file type. If you have received an error while trying to upload a file we request you send an email to Dave Best along with the information of the file you are trying to upload, and an active email where can contact you back once the issue has been resolved.
